STATUS: Breakout test. Nice break higher two weeks back took ONNN out of its 10 week cup with handle base. Nice break higher to a 6 year high and now this test is setting up the continued run, showing a nice tight doji Wednesday on the 18 day EMA (11.44). That often indicates a test is over.

STATUS: Breakout test. Coming back for a nice test of the 10 day EMA (27.31) following the nice break higher in early July that took it out of its 10 week flat base. It is making its second test of that move, using the market selling to consolidate and set up the next run to a new high. Excellent action with strong money flow still leading the way even with this pullback.

STATUS: Breakout test. SWKS is using the market selling to test the early July breakout from its 7 month base. Nice surge higher to 9 on strong volume, then a lower volume pullback to test the 18 day EMA intraday and then rebounding to close at the 10 day EMA. Strong money flow is leading higher and with the earnings already in the bank and other good chip earnings coming out we are looking for SWKS to hold in this area and continue its breakout move.

STATUS: Breakout test. Really like the way this pattern has formed up. TLK gapped higher in early July after making a higher low in its 7 month ascending base, tested, and then gapped higher again. It has used the market selling to test, holding at the 10 day EMA (48.60) the past week. Like how it is holding the near support as it tests the breakout to a new all-time high. Volume jumped Tuesday as it held the support and showed a doji, and it did the same thing Wednesday. Looks ripe to continue the move higher.

STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. TRMB is giving us another entry point to this strong stock as it tests back to the 18 day EMA (32.96) following a nice run from the mid-June breakout. Volume has swelled the past two sessions as TRMB made the test and started to bounce higher Wednesday. Excellent action in a market leader. Money flow is surging higher ahead of price and TRMB looks ready to follow it.

EARNINGS: 7-26-07 after the close
STATUS: Breakout test. VSEA exploded higher for us in mid-July, coming off the 50 day EMA on strong volume and completing its 10 week base. It surged to 48 on the move and is now back to test, holding above the 10 day EMA (44.09 on the Wednesday close. Nice action as it tests back from a new high, and with the WFR earnings we are anticipating good results. Thus we are willing to step in ahead of earnings with some positions.

STATUS: Breakout test. BG has set up a neat little 4 week double bottom w/handle this month, holding over near support at the 18 day EMA as it sets up for the break higher. The pattern is consolidating the late June breakout from a 17 week base. Very nice action in a weak market, going about its own business, setting up for a breakout near earnings. Earnings are Thursday before the open; if it gives us some upside we will let it make the first test and then move in as it rebounds.

EARNINGS: 8-1-07
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Reached down to the 50 day EMA Wednesday but then rebounded for a gain on lower but still above average volume. Good shakeout. Now e just sit back and see if it shows us the breakout as well. To recap: DRQ broke higher last Thursday after a test of the 90 day SMA intraday Wednesday and then the rebound to the close with the market. Friday it tested; good action forming the handle to its 11 week base. This base formed after the March breakout and run up to a new high at 52. DRQ is consolidating that move and with the strength in the sector the earnings are showing, it is ready to make the next breakout to another new high. Monday it gapped higher, but it could not hold its high. Looks ready to move. Very solid and yet another stock on the report that sports some of the top earnings growth rates in the market.

EARNINGS: 7-26-07 before the open
STATUS: Ascending base. After testing back to the 10 day EMA Tuesday, WHQ reached to the 50 day SMA Wednesday and then reversed for a strong gain on strong volume, moving to a new all-time closing high. Strong volume on the reversal is a nice touch. Earnings are out before the open and we are looking at this one as well on a test if it can show a solid earnings bounce higher out of the gates.
