Invest and Trade Profitably with Jon Johnson

You often mention money flow. Where do you derive this information from?

We look at many measures of money flow to get a flavor of what we feel is moving into the stock. When institutions want a stock, they cannot just go buy it. Price would fly on the buys and then fall. They accumulate over months. This can turn up in many clues. We look at Bloomberg money flow indicators. We look at IBD accumulation tables. We look at block trades. We look at traditional ‘money flow’ formula calculations. We compile that information to see if it matches or corroborates each other. We don’t rely on one measure because there are so many different ways it is calculated. We look at many and form a ‘mega money flow’ compilation. We feel much more comfortable with that measure than relying on just one or two.
