1) MARKET SUMMARY
Stocks game, but lack punch without a strong jobs report.

– Market was set to move but jobs took the wind.
– Jobs fail to hit expectations and whisper, but a very solid year of growth.
– ISM services, a leading indicator, climbs above expectations.
– Market ends the week with promise unfulfilled, but set to continue the rally.

2) Stock Splits Playing stock splits can be very profitable, but it takes know-how. Our stock split service focuses on three main types of plays: 1) pre-announcement (where we forecast an upcoming split prior to the company making the announcement); 2) pre-split (these plays are made in the days leading up to the actual split day); and 3) post-split plays (plays made after the actual stock split where the stock is showing continued or renewed strength). For post-splits, we can play them as we would pre-splits (very short term), but we prefer to stretch our horizons, playing the trend. When playing options, we look further out, 2 or more months at least. We let the trend carry us along if there is one, but we will also take profits if the technical pattern degenerates, e.g., breaks a trendline. The main difference between post-splits and pre-splits plays is that we really have to like the pattern. Pre-splits can run right before their splits even with poor technical indicators. For post-splits, we are looking at the stocks from more of a longer term “would I buy this stock at this juncture?” position. Now there are times when a hot stock splits and investors pile in to get in while the stock is ‘cheaper.’ We play those, but with more of a short-term, pre-splits mentality in that we will be ready to get out fast if the momentum fades. Remember, everything we do has to pass muster with the market that day … don’t fight the market on these plays. Here’s a post-split play to watch and our current analysis.http://www.investmenthouse.com/1stocksplits1.htm” target=”_top”>http://www.investmenthouse.com/images2/cnbc.gif” width=”39″ height=”31″ border=”0″ alt=”CNBC Interview”>

RCI”>
RCI (Renal Care Group–$33.4; -0.24; optionable): Specialized health services.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/rci.html”>Company Profile
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. An excellent handle has formed for Renal (the Smuckers of health services), moving laterally on top of the 18 day EMA (33.24) on nice, low below average volume. Just a very nice 29 week base sporting strong 6 to 2 accumulation. Being patient and letting it show us the volume move through the buy point. That is when we will jump on board.

3) Technical Playhttp://investmenthouse.com/quote/stkquote.php3?smbl=
LFUS”>
LFUS (Littelfuse–$39.14; -0.51; optionable): Circuit protection products for electronic, auto, and electric markets.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lfus.html”>Company Profile
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Tremendous run in 2003 to June 2004, and it needed a good base to set up for the next big run. The current 5.5 month pattern has done just that, and now LFUS is working laterally in its three week handle, the point where the last weak holders in the base are shaken out as they become frustrated that the stock has apparently stalled out before reaching the old high. Fearing another tank they sell out. The low volume, however, tells us they are not many. Moreover, positive accumulation tells us there are more buyers than sellers, and rising money flow that is rallying higher even as the price moves laterally shows money moving into the stock, preparing the way higher. Volume started to edge up some last week as the trading range narrowed. That often precedes the breakout move, so we want to be ready this week.
Volume: 69.598K Avg Volume: 238.272K
BUY POINT: $40.42 Volume=357K Target=$48 Stop=$38.58
POSITION: FGQ CH – Mar. $40c (48 delta) &/or Stock.
